December 2011 I was searching for something visual in the area to paint and decided on the frost-bitten vines on trellis. I had not removed them from the ground as they still looked interesting to me. This is one of the first paintings that I began to paint in the style that began to emerge around this time in 
my life in Clearwater, BC.
