January 2013   This was my second Vancouver Island painting that I began before Christmas.  It was inspired by one of my walks through Swan Lake Christmas Hill Nature Sanctuary.  While I was walking along the trail I was pleasantly startled by a chirping bird that landed in the tree where I was passing.  I stopped to appreciate it when more and more birds appeared, as if out of nowhere, and soon there was a chirping festival in the grove of trees where I quietly stood.
