I had a lot of fun painting the two paintings in the broken hearts on the mend series. The first one, Canoe, began with me wanting to paint something differently. I really enjoyed creating the faces and they depict two people who are healing from a broken relationship. There is a home, a source of music and other items that emerge from the personality of both of these people either when they were together or from them separately as individuals, either before the relationship began, during the relationship or after their time together. The characters might refer to their personality depiction or how they really look. It really is a piece where you can let your imagination do the referencing.
